Install CM10 Jelly Bean ROM on Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo/Neo V

A sequel to the trendy blockbuster , the Sony Ericsson VIVAZ, the Xperia Neo/Neo V ( the latter differs only in the camera resolution courtesy the vicious earthquake that struck Japan ) is as good as a “sequel” could be. Carrying all the trend setting aesthetics of it’s patrons, the Xperia Neo/Neo V, was one of the second generation of Xperia smartphones from SONY that tasted the bestselling offerings of the android world. It landed up with a 1 GHz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 chipset coupled with 512mb of RAM and was one of the first breed of droids to host the “HD” tag. Besides boasting a market ruling chipset of it’s time, the Xperia Neo/Neo V took the mobile photography world by a storm by it’s 8 megapixel Exmor R camera sensor and 720p video with continuous autofocus with the hardware performing out every single of it’s capabilities, as sooner it became the favourite for the likes of the photography people.

How to Update Xperia Active ST17i / ST17a to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Custom ROM

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active ST17i / ST17a is one of the 2011 Android devices that will probably not get the ICS or even the Jelly Bean software update because they were low-end smartphones. But the best part is, the developers community is still up to keep those devices alive. You can easily install Android 4.1.1 CM10 Jelly Bean on Xperia Active ST17i / ST17a with the easy tutorial below.

CM10 Development for Kindle Fire HD 7"

What works:

-Almost nothing so far.

::UPDATES::

[12/4] I now have screen working.
[12/5] Boots fully, but no touchscreen and the resolution appears to be wrong. (see image below.)

[12/7] Touchscreen now works, but is off by 90 degrees.

[12/8] Basic functionality appears to be working now.
Wifi works, and screen and softkeys are all working now too.

[12/10] 210 seems to be the magic DPI number for this device. Thanks to all of you who suggested that.
